Dear KING BIZKIT Fans
Well, following on from my last Newsletter back in September, I went back to ROUNDEL STUDIOS (www.roundelstudios.co.uk) in Kent on Friday 20th. October to record all the live Brass Section parts on the new album and was really delighted with the day’s recording. Together with ROGER COTTON, the Engineer and owner of ROUNDEL STUDIOS, we achieved very easily the sound that I was hoping for.
I was delighted and honoured to have the services of the legendary HENRY LOWTHER on Trumpet and the superb PETE LONG on Baritone and LISA GRAHAME on Alto, both of whom are regulars in Jools Holland’s Orchestra. I also had the excellent MIKE OWEN on Tenor Sax and together the four of them laid down some superb brass playing for the album, which has really bought the tracks alive and achieved 100% what I wanted too.
Also at the Session was Flautist, LISA HALLS, who I bought in to add a haunting Flute line behind my vocal on ‘FATMAN’S GAME’ and she captured the feeling exactly with what I wanted to achieve and got it spot on…….which is remarkable seeing that it was her first time ever in a Recording Studio, let alone performing in one!!!!!!!!!
ROGER COTTON was again excellent at the ‘Controls’ (see
photo) and captured some excellent recordings for me. So, all in all,
it was a very productive, satisfying day’s recording and I would
like to offer a really big ‘Thank you’ to all concerned.
All I have left to do now is to record the superb CLAUDE DEPPA on his
Trumpet parts and RICHARD HENRY who is coming in to put some Bass Trombone
parts to FATMAN’S GAME, so it’s back to Roundel Studios on
November 6th for recording and then on the 7th. & 8th. Roger Cotton
and Myself will be doing the Mixing!
